Op 9 Juli 2008 zal Widosari een concert verzorgen op het Bartok Festival in Hongarije. Het Bartok Festival in Hongarije staat dit jaar in het teken van Oosterse/Aziatische muzikale invloeden. Naast muziek uit China en Japan is Indonesië vertegenwoordigd door Gamelanensemble Widosari. Naast het concert is Widosari ook te horen op televisie en radio.

Far East from Close Up

You may ask what the Far East has to do with the Bartók Festival. In the knowledge of Béla Bartók's poetic creed and life-work one can say that the composers of several Far-Eastern countries rely, just like Bartók did, on the pure musical source of their respective countries, much more than their Western European colleagues do. At the festival ahead of us we will get acquainted with hardly known or completely unfamiliar musical worlds and admire their unique beauties. The encounter of two instruments, the ancient Chinese mouth-organ sheng and the modern European piano accordion as well as the splendid unity of their consonance promises great delight. We will listen to a contemporary work composed for traditional Indonesian gamelan orchestra and get an insight into the output of the last three generations of Japanese composition.

Dit jaar staat het Hongaarse Bartok festival dus in het teken van de Aziatische invloed op Béla Bartók. Widosari zal hiertoe een concert te verzorgen en meewerken aan radio en televisie uitzendingen.
